PREP COURSES: GRADES 3 – 5 (AGES 8 – 11)
Learn coding logic with scratch and keyboarding to learn all the keys on the keyboard.
Scratch Coding
This course walks kids through MIT’s scratch coding program giving them experience using all the different tools. They’ll have fun learning about different blocks and how to come together creating a game or animation.
There are in total 10 lesson modules each with their own project and quizzes. Each module focuses on a different skill teaching them computer logic and preparing them for future courses.
Keyboarding for Kids
This course gives students proper posture, hand placement, and typing techniques that covers all alphabet keys, space bar, caps lock, shift, enter and backspace.
Each lesson consists of a special mission as a student makes their way to save the leader Alpha Prime. There are in total 7 modules to be completed with a section at the end where they can test their speed and accuracy through a fun interactive space game.

Intro to Websites
Learn to Code your own Website using HTML5, CSS3 and some JavaScript.
The goal of this course is to introduce students to writing real HTML and CSS. They’ll use a professional text editor and save everything to their computer.
This course assumes no prior coding knowledge.
After they complete their own websites, they’ll learn how to upload it live online starting a nice online portfolio of their work!
JavaScript Game Design
Learn JavaScript by coding your own browser games!
The goal of this course is to introduce students to JavaScript and basic computer logic.
This course assumes no prior coding experience! The goal of this course is for the student to code three different games and then use those games as a resource while he codes his own custom game for his final project!
Students will upload their games live online to continue building their coding portfolio.

The goal of this course is to build a cross platform website that resizes itself to mobile, tablet or desktop screen size. Students will learn the bootstrap framework for this project!
This course assumes some HTML and CSS knowledge! The final project is to customize the look and feel of your online portfolio!
JavaScript Tower Defense
Dive deeper into JavaScript and code your own tower defense game!
The goal of this course is to teach students more advanced Javascript concepts and logic! This is a fast paced game with lots of simultaneous events happening non stop!
This course assumes some JavaScript knowledge! The final project is to replicate a game shown to you in the last lesson!
Python Multiplayer Adventures
Code multiple python programs include to multiplayer games!
The goal of this course is to teach students python and gets lots of practice with it’s unique style! Students will use IDLE for their IDE (Python.org).
This course does start from the beginning teaching Python but moves quickly! Students will also get to use a graphics library called kivy. Coding projects include a choose your own text adventure game, multiplayer space adventure and a multiplayer dungeon escape game!
Intro to Java Mini Games
Code multiple Java programs using the Eclipse IDE!
The goal of this course is to give students lots of practice in Java. Students will code, from start to finish, over 10 complete Java programs.
This course does start from the beginning teaching Java but moves quickly! Students will also get to use a graphics library called swing. Coding projects include battleship, picture shuffler, player vs computer stick game and many more!
Minecraft Mods in Java
Use Java to modify and add to the existing Minecraft code base!
The goal of this course is to give students a feel for Java used in the popular game Minecraft.
This course is more for fun and doesn’t go over all the Java concepts used. It’s a great followup after Into to Java. It teaches them where to use the needed Java code to create new items, blocks, weapons, mobs, armor, special items and more!
VR and 3D Game Design
Code a 3D racing game and a VR mansion escape house!
The goal of this course is to give students a look into the 3D world.
This course does start from the beginning and uses JavaScript and HTML to code everything! All you need is a simple text editor and a browser. For the full effect students should upload their projects to github to have a url to view from their phone!
Android Apps in Java (Coming Soon)
Code multiple Android apps using native Java and Android Studios!
The goal of this course is to give students lots of practice in the app development world.
This course does start from the beginning teaching Java but moves quickly! Projects include: Flashlight app (get experience with using internal hardware), Sound Board app, GPS Location app (get experience using internal software) and Platform Adventure app!
